Her love of Chinese medicine began long ago when she lived in New York City. Chinese medicine and acupuncture provided insight and support.

Lauren is a family practitioner. She can support you, your kids, your parents, your friends all to feel better. She prioritizes honoring the seasons of the year along with your personal season of life. This allows her to treat you specifically to the moment you are in and healing from.

She is an herb and food lover. She integrates simple ways for you to be healthy through herbal and nutrition tips. The more accessible to you, the better the medicine.

  • Dr. Alison Winters, M.S., L.Ac., DAOM

Dr. Alison’s mission is to treat the whole person, not just the discomfort or the illness, using Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Nutritional Counseling and Reiki. She provides an open, safe, gentle & nurturing environment for each patient to relax and let the body, mind and spirit heal.

Dr. Alison Winters earned her Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, San Francisco in December 2008. She is licensed by the California Board of Registration in Medicine to practice acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and holds a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

While at ACTCM, Dr. Alison interned at both its Community Clinic and Auricular Clinic and also at California Pacific Medical Center’s Stroke Project and Physical Therapy Center, at Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic and Dr. Lifang Liang’s Fertility Clinic. She was also a Teaching Assistant for Yefim Gamgoneishvili, L.Ac Sports’ Medicine class, specializing in pain management.

In China Dr. Alison studied with Dr. Wang Ju-Yi, one of modern China’s most respected scholars, teachers and practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine. Here she learned his theory of channel palpation using mainly distal points, giving her a deeper understanding of the interrelationship between organ and channel theory and leading to more precise diagnoses and more tangible clinical results.

Dr. Alison holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Psychology from Northeastern University in Boston, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She is a Reiki Master of the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition and has traveled throughout Peru studying Incan Medicine.

Dr. Alison has had extensive experience working in Community Acupuncture, having worked at the Cambridge Community Clinic, Acupuncture Together in Cambridge, MA for three years treating acute and chronic pain, digestive issues, allergies, infertility, women’s issues, pregnancy, stress, anxiety, fatigue and depression. In 2013 Dr. Alison opened a new Community Clinic in Salem MA where she treated patients with similar issues.

Dr. Alison is currently training to be a doula, having begun her studies at the non-profit, village-based organization Bumi Sehat Foundation in Bali where she assisted in live births and performed acupuncture on the newborns.

  • Dr. Hana Lurie

Dr. Hana is a Doctor of Eastern Medicine and acupuncturist. She is a graduate of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College (https://www.aimc.edu) in Berkeley, California, and has a Masters of Science in Eastern Medicine with an emphasis on Japanese Acupuncture and Herbalism, in addition to a Doctoral degree from the Pacific College of Health and Science.(https://www.pacificcollege.edu)

Dr. Hana has always had an interest in how our internal experiences relate to our external bodies. After pursuing a B.S. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, she spent several years working as a residential mental health counselor for youth diagnosed with schizophrenia. Here, through creating nutrition and exercise workshops, she observed a huge improvement in the resident's wellness and clarity. During this same period, neck pain from a car accident led her to experience East Asian Medicine, where she discovered the immense healing potential of acupuncture. She's inspired by the medicine's poetic alignment with the natural world.

Clinically, Dr. Hana focuses on regulating systems in the body that have become imbalanced over time. This includes rhythms of hormones, mood, digestion and sleep, with an emphasis on women's health. Her review of acupuncture's effect on reproductive hormones and the uterus has been published in the Journal of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine. (https://jaimonline.org/category/jaim-winter-2018/) She practices with a gentle Japanese needling style

When she's not in the clinic, Dr. Hana loves spending time in nature and with friends, rock climbing and cooking.

  • Dr. Britt Alexandra Peterson is a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and practitioner of East Asian medicine. She taught yoga, Pilates, and other forms of movement for almost 10 years, and is deeply interested in the way the physical body so beautifully connects with our mental and emotional state. Dr. Britt uses her background, training, and caring nature to help her patients return to and enhance a state of balance and holistic well-being.

Dr. Britt earned her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine (DAIM) from Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College (AIMC) in Berkeley, California. Her doctoral research was focused on introducing natural, preventative healthcare to teens and young adults. She is passionate about working with this population to find holistic solutions to anxiety, depression, and stress.

Dr. Britt discovered the profound effects of acupuncture and East Asian Medicine after a Vespa accident in her late twenties. She found that while the acupuncture treatments allowed for more ease and comfort in her body, the healing involved all aspects of herself. It soon became clear that her life’s purpose is to share this poetic, ancient medicine with others, and thus her journey began. Dr. Britt’s interest in the five pillars of East Asian Medicine and her desire to integrate these philosophies into her own life has only grown since then.

Dr. Britt is inspired by creating with others, sharing knowledge, and advocating for what she believes in. When not practicing, teaching, or learning, you can find Britt reading novels in a cozy nook somewhere, soaking in natural hot springs, practicing qi gong, or exploring her local and worldly surroundings.

Amy Sierra Bolton Taylor Mitchell, M.S., L.Ac., is the founder of Mitchell Family Acupuncture. She practices medicine with joy that is rooted in her own experience of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and is informed by her over twenty years of study and practice in the world of natural medicine.

  • Associate | Daniel Paige, M.S., L.Ac.

Daniel draws on his own background, bringing deep empathy to his work, along with his strong training, skill and experience of over 15 years, in order to give the best care to every individual. He discovered TCM as many people do: it helped him with his own health issues. After a few severe episodes of illness during his twenties, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a form of cancer.

He can happily share that he is healthy and cancer-free many years later. He credits Acupuncture and Chinese herbs for supporting him physically and emotionally through the chemotherapy and radiation cancer treatments, for helping to balance and build strength after his illness, and for helping him to thrive ever since.

He holds a Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, CA. He also studied extensively with Beverly Burns M.S., L.Ac., a well-known leader in the field of TCM, who is currently a staff member at UCSF’s Osher Center for Complementary Medicine in San Francisco.

He is also a practicing artist and musician and grew up in Philadelphia, PA, and currently lives in Albany CA with his wife and daughter.
