We help your system rebalance and restore—so you feel healthier, more grounded, and at ease in your body.

Reconnect with your
health & vitality
Our Approach
At Mitchell Family Acupuncture, we treat you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. Our approach uses acupuncture to tap into your body’s vital energy, or Qi, restoring balance across your system. Qi flows through meridians that connect your organs, brain, heart, and limbs. When these pathways are blocked or imbalanced, it can affect your health, mood, and energy.
Through acupuncture, we help reopen those pathways and support your body’s natural healing abilities. We also coordinate care by reviewing test results, collaborating with your other providers, and offering referrals when needed, ensuring that your treatment is personalized and supported from every angle.
Acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, massage, Mayan abdominal therapy, and energetic care—delivered with presence, kindness, and heart.
What to Expect as a New Patient
Your first visit includes a thorough health intake, including your diet, sleep, stress, lifestyle, and more. We’ll also take your pulse and look at your tongue—two important diagnostic tools in Chinese Medicine. After reviewing your full health picture, we’ll share a diagnosis and personalized treatment plan. Your first acupuncture treatment happens during this visit, along with diet and lifestyle recommendations. On your second visit, we may also suggest herbal medicine if it’s right for you.
New patient appointments are typically booked about four weeks out. If you're experiencing pain, undergoing fertility treatments, or need more immediate care, please call—we’ll do our best to fit you in sooner.

What to Expect — Before Treatment
When you brush your teeth, please do not brush your tongue
The color and texture of the tongue coating are important diagnostic tools in our team’s diagnostic process. Please avoid brushing your tongue for at least 24 hours before each visit. If you habitually brush your tongue to prevent bad breath, discuss this with your acupuncturist. Persistent bad breath may be a sign of stomach imbalance, and is important for your acupuncturist to know.
Eat before your appointment
Have a little food in your belly when you arrive for your treatments. You do not need to have just eaten a meal but do not come on an empty stomach.
What to Expect — After Treatment
-
Relax for a few minutes after your treatments
Some patients feel a sense of euphoria after receiving acupuncture. If you feel spacey please sit quietly for a few minutes until you feel normal. Sip some warm water and take a stroll in the neighborhood.
-
In the hours after your treatments
Your body is going through a physiological re-balancing process. To maximize the effect of your treatments avoid exercise that induces sweating, hot tubs, over-eating, and drugs or alcohol for several hours before and after treatment. Drink fluids including water, bone broth, warm teas and soups. Allow yourself more rest.
-
Are you sick?
If yes, please come to your appointment. Our team can take care of you!
